Rebranding to Enel X
In August 2017, the Enel Group, one of the world’s largest energy companies serving more than 72 million customers in 34 countries, was excited to announce that it had completed the acquisition of EnerNOC, the global leader in demand-side flexibility services and technology-enabled advisory solutions.
A few months later, Enel announced the launch of Enel X, a division of Enel focused solely on developing new, value-added services for today’s generation of more empowered energy consumers. Enel X accomplishes this ambitious goal by delivering innovative products and solutions for businesses, residential customers, governments, and the transportation sector.
Come October 2018, EnerNOC will officially rebrand to Enel X
To help, we have pulled together answers to some frequently asked questions on what formally rebranding to Enel X means for EnerNOC customers, partners, and the energy industry at large.
This is about more than just a name change. Rebranding to Enel X means that our customers and partners around the world now have access to a richer suite of products, services, and global expertise.
Enel, parent company of Enel X, is one of the world’s largest providers of renewable energy and was one of the first companies to deploy smart meters for its residential and commercial customers. Our commitment to creating a sustainable future through innovative technologies, services, and business practices is unrivaled. In three out of the last four years, Enel was listed on Fortune Magazine’s “50 Companies that are Changing the World.”
In short, rebranding to Enel X puts EnerNOC employees in an even better position to deliver more value to our customers and partners and play a pivotal role in shaping the new smart energy economy.
EnerNOC’s name will change to reflect the Enel X brand, and EnerNOC will begin to officially operate under that new name in October. After that date, you’ll notice that our employees will have @enel.com email addresses (enernoc.com email addresses will continue to work for a transition period).
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to add the enel.com domain to your email’s “safe senders” list to ensure you continue to receive uninterrupted communications from us. This is especially critical if you are a recipient of demand response dispatch notifications.
Other than that, our goal is to minimize any disruption and continue to operate business as usual.
No. While email addresses will change, staffing is unaffected by this brand transition.
The brand transition is not affecting any current products or services. Your commercial relationship with us will continue uninterrupted. That being said, rebranding to Enel X enables us to offer a range of exciting new products and services. If you’re interested in learning more, please reach out to your account manager or sales representative.
Not yet, but we are working on it. The Enel X team is currently working to evaluate which products and services make the most sense in each market. In North America, for example, the team is primarily focused on four core areas: demand response and flexibility services, distributed generation and microgrids, energy efficiency and optimization solutions, and advisory services supporting energy supply and management.
That being said, we welcome conversations with our customers and partners to discuss specific product and service capabilities, as we are actively looking to understand how our global solutions can address our customers’ needs. Operating as part of a global brand like Enel X provides access to global resources and expertise to solve some of the most complex challenges in the energy industry. Understanding your priorities and challenges will only help us better understand how our solutions can help our customers globally.
No, your existing contract with EnerNOC is still valid, and we can provide you with a certificate of name change upon request in late September. If your organization has special contracting requirements, please reach out to our support team.
Any agreement with Enel X will not pose a conflict with your current supplier. Please contact us to learn more about Enel X’s conflict of interest policy.
