EnerNOC Expands New York Presence

Bolstered operations and sales teams reflect opportunity in critical market


NEW YORK, NY – EnerNOC, Inc., a leading energy management solutions provider specializing in demand response, today announced that it has expanded its presence in the New York region to better serve its New York area customers. This move is in direct response to the company's opportunity to provide power capacity and conservation to the New York City and Long Island areas.

As part of this expansion, EnerNOC - a significant demand response contributor to the NY grid during the peak capacity demand events of July 18th and 19th and August 1st and 2nd - has moved into a new headquarters and increased its sales and operational staff. In 2006 alone, EnerNOC added more than 40 MW's of demand response capacity from over 150 facilities in New York. EnerNOC also won a contract with the New York State Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to identify and enable 11 MW's of new demand response capacity under its Aggregated Load Reduction Program.

During the summer of 2006, EnerNOC was called upon over a dozen times by system operators from California, New York and New England to provide emergency demand response capacity. Using its technology-enabled demand response solution, EnerNOC was able to meet this request by automatically implementing predefined processes with dozens of its commercial and industrial end-user customers to cut back their energy consumption and/or utilize backup power sources.

EnerNOC's industry-leading demand response services have fueled the company's rapid expansion since its inception in 2001. This year alone, EnerNOC successfully managed 39 demand response events throughout New England, New York and California to preempt blackouts and lower wholesale prices.
