EnerNOC has an immediate opening for a Market Specialist, Energy Management in San Francisco or Boston, reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing. The Market Specialist is responsible for providing analytical and project management support to the marketing and sales staff, with a focus on energy management solutions for the markets. The ideal candidate should have a proactive, energetic and customer-centric attitude, and be capable of multi-tasking across a broad set of assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

The key objective of this position is to support EnerNOC’s marketing and sales efforts as they relate to our Total Energy Management (TEM) offerings. TEM encompasses a variety of products and services, including energy procurement services, energy information management and analysis, carbon neutrality services, and other technology-enabled energy management and consulting services.

In general, the marketing analyst will perform market research, analyze marketing and sales data, manage various marketing channels, support the design of marketing materials, offer sales support, and complete specific project-related tasks.

Market Research:

  • Perform company searches on prospective customers
  • Research industry news, events, and developments
  • Track and report on competitive developments, products, and services in the market

Analyzing Marketing and Sales Data:

  • Identify and quantify target North American markets
  • Mine customer portfolio data to support marketing activities
  • Perform market share analysis
  • Track marketing indicators and performance

Managing Marketing Channels:

  • Manage participation in industry events
  • Manage membership to associations/organizations
  • Administer Web-based seminars
  • Support web-related activities

Design Marketing Materials:

  • Write draft content for marketing materials
  • Assist with designing the look and feel of new collateral
  • Assist with creating standard sales presentations

Sales Support::

  • Manage and administer regional entries in EnerNOC’s Customer Relationship Management (ECRM) system, including the development of reports
  • Field sales team support calls, and act as customer liaison in absence of sales staff
  • Plan and execute EnerNOC events
  • Generate leads

Qualifications/Skills/Education:

  • B.S./B.A. in business, economics, marketing, or finance preferred
  • Minimum of two years previous experience in a marketing and sales support role
  • Positive, proactive, and energetic team attitude and desire to continually help marketing and sales team be more productive
  • Ability to foster confidence so that team is comfortable off-loading responsibilities
  • Ability to quickly follow through on tasks and see them to completion
  • Attention to detail and pride in work product
  • Ability to productively use technology (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM a plus)
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel a PLUS
  • Knowledge of or experience with energy information system, energy management services and solutions, carbon neutrality services, and/or energy procurement preferred
