EnerNOC has an immediate need for an Energy Markets Intern to work with the Energy Markets group. EnerNOC's mission is to provide capacity to the grid by reducing customers' electricity consumption on an emergency basis. We support this mission through market research and analysis, program compliance, and execution of core operational tasks such as billing, data reconciliation, and customer management. This position is perfect for a highly-motivated student who is passionate about energy conservation and would like to gain experience in a start-up environment.

The intern will support the Energy Markets team through process automation, market analysis, and program participation/compliance. In addition, the intern will work with the rest of the Operations team to enhance EnerNOCs event management process.

• Use Excel and VBA (or similar technology) to automate processing of provider payments.
• Refine spreadsheet tools to analyze post-event customer performance.
• Perform daily nominations in demand response markets.
• Build custom solutions and/or perform analysis to meet customer demands.

The intern will become an expert in EnerNOC's core operational processes and will develop a deep understanding of the issues surrounding load curtailment, emergency backup generation, and demand response programs across the nation.

• Student or recent graduate of 4-year undergraduate program.
• Passion for the energy industry.
• Superior computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Visual Basic, VBA, Java or a similar programming language.
• Strong self-motivation with the ability to work in a fast paced, forward moving environment.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer relations skills.
