EnerNOC has an immediate need for a New Business Development Manager with at least 10 years experience in energy analytics and controls and energy management services, reporting to the Senior Director of New Business Development. The New Business Development Manager, EA&C will have in-depth knowledge of energy analytics and controls technology and energy efficiency, and will have a demonstrated track record of prospecting sales and account management success with commercial, institutional, and industrial customers in the target vertical markets.
This job requires extensive nationwide travel, meeting with customers, attending trade shows, and representing the company’s growing EA&C business. EnerNOC offers its existing customers value-added EA&C services based on our proprietary PowerTrak® web services platform (branded PowerTrak® Analytics). The New Business Development Manager, EA&C will have primary responsibility for continuing the launch of the PowerTrak® Analytics sales campaign, working closely with key account representatives assigned to EnerNOC’s existing customers. Successful candidates can expect to earn $125,000 to $200,000 per year, working in a progressive and rapidly growing business in a rapidly growing industry with world-class teammates, plus a healthy stock option plan.

| Key Responsibilities: |
|
The primary responsibility of the New Business Development Manager, EA&C is to generate PowerTrak® Analytics revenue for the company by developing new business opportunities with existing customers, prospecting for customers, developing new relationships, and ultimately securing commercial business to achieve aggressive annual sales plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Meet an aggressive sales plan by cross-selling PowerTrak® Analytics services to existing EnerNOC customers and coordinating with assigned business development managers, acting as a lead sales consultant and contract negotiator
- Analyze customer energy and facility data and understand a company's energy management priorities; incorporate these results into PowerTrak® Analytics strategy for customer review
- Support EnerNOC’s PowerTrak® Analytics Operations team to design solutions that solve the customer's business problems and oversee the development and presentation of proposals designed to achieve the customers’ strategic objectives
- Manage the hand-off of implementation responsibilities to PowerTrak® Analytics Operations and the accounts’ business development manager
- Establish the process to automate regular PowerTrak® Analytics communications to customers and quarterly PowerTrak® Analytics ValueTrak reporting, and support PowerTrak® Analytics Operations in ensuring these on-going services meet customers’ needs
- Regularly participate in the “Red Envelop” experience with new PowerTrak® Analytics customers and prospects, supporting the expansion and renewal of PowerTrak® Analytics agreements
- Report on all PowerTrak® Analytics sales activities according to EnerNOC’s sales process and using EnerNOC’s sales reporting systems
- Work with EnerNOC’s Product Development and PowerTrak® Analytics Operations teams to refine and expand PowerTrak® Analytics and other demand-side management offerings and prepare go to market plans for Marketing and Sales

| Required Qualifications/Skills/Education: |
- The successful candidate must have significant experience (5+ years) in the EA&C field, aggressively selling energy products and services to commercial and industrial customers. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in selling solutions. Must have the ability to establish credibility with customers, partners, controls and commissioning vendors, market influencers, upper management, and other salespeople.
- B.S./B.A. in engineering, business management, or economics. MBA or Masters in engineering preferred, as well as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.

| Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education: |
- Ideal candidates will have come from the EA&C sales team of an energy services company or an energy analytics or controls technology provider, an engineering consulting firm, or an unregulated division or subsidiary of a utility. A candidate bringing a book of business and/or an established network of target account contacts to the company is a definite plus. Preferred backgrounds include experience in the energy space, such as energy engineering, retro- and continuous-commissioning, energy software, building or energy management system controls, or energy consulting. Candidates with four-year engineering degrees as well as candidates with experience selling software solutions are preferred. Sharp financial analysis skills are a requirement for this solution-oriented sale.
- This individual should be a confident and professional self-starter, a good listener, comfortable interfacing with senior level leadership, aggressive in finding and closing business, focused on meeting the customer's needs, and should work well within a team of marketing, product development, and sales managers in a rapidly growing business.
- Proven experience with new product launch and ground-floor business expansion into national commercial and industrial markets is preferred. Experience with start-up service companies is valuable.
- Success in delivering high margin, reoccurring revenues to meet or exceed specific operational goals is essential.
